Stud Poker Games
Stud Poker Games
Stud poker is a poker variant at which players get to receive their own hand and some cards will be face-down and others face-up(exposed to opponents). This kind of poker does not accept redraws.
The popular versions of the stud poker make use of 7 cards or 5 cards per player. Players would have to make their highest hand making use of any 5 cards only.
There are several other variations of stud poker which make use of wild cards and also to include hi-lo pots.
7 Card Stud
This game is played with a maximum of 7 players. Each player gets to receive a total of 7 cards. The first 2 cards are dealt face-down and 4 cards are dealt face-up (exposed) and the last card (seventh card) is dealt face-down. The player who has the highest hand wins the pot.
The first 2 cards dealt to players face-down and the third card dealt face-up kicks off the initial betting interval. The second betting interval starts when the forth card is dealt face-up to each player, the third betting interval begins when the fifth card face-up is dealt to each player , forth betting interval begins when the sixth card is dealt to each player and the final betting interval is when the seventh card is dealt face down to each player.
7 Card Stud Hilo
Stud Hilo is quite popular these days and is offered an almost every poker room. This is the 2nd most played Stud poker game online. It is a split pot game that pays half the pot to the player wth the high hand and the other half to the player with the low hand. Like Omaha Hilo however, there is a requirement for the low hand. You must have five cards, out of 7, that are eight of less. Here is an example hand that would qualify for the low pot; 2-3-5-7-8.
5 Card Stud
In this game each player pays a small fee called the ante and is placed in the pot. The first card is dealt face-down to each player, the second card is dealt face-up to each player and this ensures the first betting interval.
The second betting interval commences when players have been dealt a third card face-up, third betting round commences when the forth card is dealt and then the final betting interval ensures when the fifth card is dealt to each player and the game proceeds to the show down if there are two or more players still in the game.
Three Card Stud
Players pay a small fee (ante) and they are dealt with one card face-down and the first betting interval begins. The next card is dealt face-up and the second betting interval commences and the final card is dealt face-up and the final betting interval ensures and then proceeds to the showdown.
Push
This game is often played hi-lo and each player gets to receive one card face-down and the second card face-up. The game makes use of a dealer button and the game kicks off with the player left to the dealer button at which his given an option to either keep his face-up card or pass it to his opponent to his left. After making a pass he will be dealt a new card and must keep it.
Each player will have the right to pass and the game play proceeds in this manner until players have got 5 cards. The players will then be allowed to discard and draw one card and the pot is awarded to the player with the highest hand.
Razz
Razz is a poker game which is often misunderstood. Basically it is a lowball game and it’s also know as the 7 stud low. For the new players, razz appears to be a game of chance but this is a game that can be very complex. In simple terms, razz poker can be a very fun and exciting game to play if you have fully understood how the game is played. Razz is a poker game which is played by many poker players and it is also part of the mixed up combinations of poker games such as H.O.R.S.E.
I have been an avid Stud poker player for the last few years. In addition to 7 Card Stud I also play 7 Card Stud Hilo and Razz poker quite often. Texas Hold’em may be the most played card game online but the Stud poker variants can be more profitable for experienced players.
This is footage from an arcade Laser Disc game prototype produced in the mid-1980s. Essentially a feature-length interactive text adventure, the SPECTRE FILES project was designed to capitalize on the short-lived laserdisc game craze.

The LaserDisk console looks pretty cool.
WTF
‘CAUSE HER HEART’S AS COLD AS HER NOSE
Pretty cool man maybe I’ll check out the channel
Thanks, arzak1 … we had fun making it.
The band was called Trianon…
They did another great Song for a Documentary on HALLOWEEN in Carbondale at SIU… you can find in on the game refuge Channel
Is this an Alice Cooper music video?
sounds a bit like ariel
@GameRefuge
Wow, that’s great.
This game’s gameplay reminds me of those Choose Your Adventure Books when I was a kid. U pick a solution to a problem u face and either u get a good or bad ending based on path u took.
They should release it on Youtube, like others have created such “Laserdisc” games here using the in-video link buttons. The song reminds me of Pseudo Echo’s “His eyes” for a Friday the 13th movie.
Ha, dig the cheesy music.
I now have what may be the only full length copy of the original film/game content. I’m currewntly looking for a copy of the original game script so that someday I can put the entire hour and a half interactive film to DVD with all of the questions in their appropriate spots!
I wish Spectre Files will allow it on the dvd
and a classic game
Yay, I always wanted to play a cheesy horror movie! XD
…
Seriously this looks fun to play
There are a few reasons the LaserDisc arcade games died off. First, and foremost is because the early LD players were not reliable at all. They often broke down, leaving the frustrated arcade owner having to wait for a replacement player. Another reason is because beyond all the flash, the games are really quite simplistic in play. It’s basically “Simon-ish” memorization to play out a movie sequences. Don’t get me wrong… I still enjoy them, but I enjoy having full control over my game
They should release it on BluRay so the transitions are smooth and the video looks good, plus they could give us PCM sound so we can hear all the sound….for what it can provide. After all these years it’s most likely degraded badly, but if they remaster it they can get us a great BRD version!
Tell him send me a copy, I want to see it all
That would be soooo cool!
wow this looks like it would have been an awesome mix of Shadowgate and choose your own adventure type of thing. I love these old LaserDisc games…someone really should finish this game and release it.
I make games like DL with the oposite aproach. 4 right answers 1 Wrong. With no timeline and budget limit, my little experiments are free to run anyway I see fit. Sigh, but no-one cares but me. Oh well, I will keep on making prototypes and perfecting my game engines.
This actually reminds me of a combination of one of those TV board games, I can’t think of the name of one at the moment, with one of those “Choose Your Fate” books.
That’s hilarious how he chose “Ask for a date” when it was clear that she was a vamp lol. But then again they had to end the game quickly so something had to be done.
Even 20+ years later this game looks very cool to play and it’s ashame it was never released.
Possibly because no one really “improved” on the simplistic Dragon’s-Lair-style of game-play.
(Dragons Lair game-play was simple: at most junctions there was 1 right move that advanced the story, and 3-4 wrong moves that cost you a life. Simple to play, but once players learned each “correct” move, the game held few surprises.)
why did laserdisc tech died so quickly in the arcades??
Nope. All of the actors in this film were either employees of the game company, or amateurs who answered an Chicago Tribune Ad reading “…VAMPIRES WANTED: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY…”
